Dott Kelly, Founder, Clinical Director & Therapist

Dott Kelly holds a Masters in Child and Family Psychology, with specialized training in adoption, foster care, and abuse. She is trained in parent education, and has facilitated parent groups. Dott has taught seminars at Antioch University, Seattle University, and Evergreen College, and has facilitated workshops in child development and attachment.

During its first 6 ½ years, Dott served as Executive Director of Jumping Mouse Children's Center. Her duties include supervision of the master level internship training program and administration of the Center, taking a major role in grant writing. Dott is an active member of the National Association of Counselors, Sandplay Therapists of America, and the Association for Play Therapy. She is also a licensed private practitioner in mental health.

Dott has worked with children in a variety of settings for 30 years. Before becoming a therapist, she was a Montessori teacher for children ages 2-7. She has extensive experience in parent education and child development.
During her 15 years in pre-school teaching, children taught her about their own inner worlds and perceptions. Dott realized she couldn’t sustain the attention so many children required and remain in a group setting. This call from so many children, to be remembered, to be recognized as authors in their own lives, sent Dott back to Antioch for her master’s degree in depth psychology.

Dott was an original founding board member of The Boiler Room, a youth-driven non-profit coffeehouse and meeting place. Adolescents and young adults who frequented the Boiler Room made the same request: to be respected and noted for their own talents, without a need to adapt for the sake of a mainstream community, at cost to self. Some of our most creative community members built a place they would call "home": once again, a place which supported the creative expression of these young people.

Dott has worked in the alternative OPEPO Education Program, as well as managed a family planning clinic. Her own two children have been her most unrelenting and loving teachers.

MaryAnn Seward, Executive Director

MaryAnn Seward has joined Jumping Mouse Children’s Center as Executive Director.  She brings over 30 years of experience in leadership and board development, organizational consulting and executive responsibility.  She has been an Executive Director of the YWCA in Yakima, WA and Girls, Inc. in Seattle. 

As the owner of Seward Associates’ Consulting, MaryAnn’s personal mission has been to help leaders cultivate thriving organizations where they and others love to work.  She brings to Jumping Mouse Children’s Center that ideal, along with her expertise in values-based and vision-focused planning.

MaryAnn is a graduate of the University of Washington with a major in Philosophy.  She also has extensive post-graduate and professional education in organization systems, development and change.  She has led numerous leadership development seminars and workshops and Board of Directors’ retreats.

MaryAnn and her husband, Terence (Terry), are native Washingtonians and have been active residents of Port Townsend for the past ten years.

Catharine Robinson, Therapist

Catharine Robinson has a Masters degree in Psychology and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has been with Jumping Mouse Children’s Center since its inception in 1999. Previously, she was a volunteer therapist at Bergita House in Port Townsend for several years. Prior to coming to Port Townsend in 1989, she worked with children, families and adults in another state. Catharine has a wide range of experience in mental health work, including in-patient psychiatric, children and families, domestic violence, and adolescent coaching. She is a member of the Association of Play Therapy, American Counseling Association, and Sandplay Therapists of America.

Anita Fraser,  Volunteer Therapist

Anita Fraser earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington in June 2001.  As a student in the Social Work program, she interned during her last year at Jumping Mouse Children's Center and has been a volunteer therapist at Jumping Mouse since that time.

Carol Brannan,  Volunteer Therapist

Carol Brannan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has lived in Port Ludlow for the past seven years. She was credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor in Maryland. She has an MS in Counseling Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland and did graduate work at Johns Hopkins University and Towson University. She worked for many years with children, adolescents and their families in a school and community based State mental health program. She has co-facilitated adolescent girl’s groups in Maryland through the school system and in Chimacum under the auspices of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program.

Jenny Manza, Development Manager

Jenny has over 12 years experience in the non-profit sector, most recently as the publicist for Copper Canyon Press, a non-profit poetry publisher in Port Townsend. Currently, she brings her writing and marketing skills to writing and researching grants for Jumping Mouse.
